Earlier this year, BT acquired the mobile operator EE and for the first time both brands have appeared in a campaign together. EE has unveiled an ad, which can be seen below these lines, starring long-time ambassador Kevin Bacon to celebrate its content tie-up with BT Sport. The actor is joined by football stars including Rio Ferdinand, José Mourinho and Harry Redknapp to promote the fact that EE customers will now get six months free access to all BT Sports programming.
BT and EE decided to put together the best of both worlds and put together EE’s ambassador (Kevin Bacon, an actor) with BT Sports’ ambassador (Rio Ferdinand, former football player). “This is the one of our biggest integrated brand campaigns to date for one of our most exciting customer offers since we launched EE,” said Max Taylor, managing of digital, comms and innovation for the brand.
The supporting campaign, developed by Saatchi & Saatchi London, with buying from MEC, will run across print, OOH, retail and social media alongside a unique execution of the TV ad for digital.
Below these lines you can see an example of an ad recently published on The Sun, where Jose Mourinho has his say on EE/BT‘s offer.
