Gareth Bale signs six-year extension with Adidas

Bale to pen six-year adidas contract extension, joining the elite with £20m deal

Real Madrid’s galactico Gareth Bale can look forward to signing another great commercial deal to add to his multi-million-pound fortune.

Bale is understood to have agreed a £20million, six-year extension to his adidas contract that will cover his boots and personal sponsorship.

Adidas, who have had Bale on their books since he was 16, say they have been in talks with the Wales star’s advisers since he joined Madrid last summer for a world-record £86m.

Bale is one of the faces of Adidas, together with Lionel Messi, Robin van Persie or Arjen Robben , despite not going to the World Cup.

Adidas had been uncertain about making Bale a marquee player while he wasn’t featuring in the Champions League for Tottenham. But the new deal comes with Bale central to Madrid’s quest for a 10th European Cup.

An adidas source said: ‘We were always confident of keeping Gareth, but the deal has to be right for both of us.
